Groups
Young People's
The Young People’s Group of Trinity is currently made up of more than 25 young men and women from grades 11 and 12 and one year out of high school.
We meet every other Sunday night, starting at 7:30, for a Bible study at the home of one of group member’s houses. Someone different every YP’s night takes a turn leading the discussion and we rotate through the group taking turns to provide snacks and drinks.
This year our pastor, Rev. Bezuyen, is writing up the Bible study, taken from the Old Testament book of I Samuel.
A couple times through the YP’s season, which runs from late September to May, we have a fun night (greasy food, games, movie, etc.), with a barbeque to kick off and close the year.
Over the past couple years we have hosted a fundraising-entertainment night for the church community, with all proceeds going to a local Christian charity. It is a lot of work but by all accounts this night is said to be very rewarding, for the audience, Young People’s and the charity.
We hope to grow the group and encourage the youth to bring friends and neighbours out to study God’s Word and enjoy the company of other Christian young people.
The goal of all this is for the young people to be built up by their peers, to strengthen their faith, to encourage one another to get out of shells (if necessary) and learn to live as salt and light through every word and deed.
The current group leaders are Mitch and Dana S.
