Old-and-young-hands-symbolizing-helping-the-elderly“..what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8)

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbour as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 22:37-39)

Praising God is more than a Sunday activity. The great love God has shown us in Christ should flow out to others and become evident in selfless sharing of His love with those we encounter every day. By His grace, we strive to honour God and be a blessing both to each other and the world around us.

Opportunities for service are many. For example, you could make a meal for someone in need, help on the Banquet Committee, make quilts for families affected by cancer, assist the Audio Visual team, help out in the Church library, or serve on one of many other committees. Perhaps you could send a card to someone who is ill or lonely, drive a senior to a doctor’s appointment or lead a boys’ or girls’ group. As the body of Christ, we want to be a hand and foot to each other and, in thankfulness to God for all He has done for us, reach out with His love to this hurting world. Whatever your gifts or talents, there are opportunities to use them here and we welcome your involvement!

In addition, our church contributes to the support of a host of worthwhile causes both in our local community and farther afield. They include counseling centres, homes for adults living with disabilities, a summer camp for church kids which also sponsors disadvantaged children from the city, production of dried food packages to send to countries experiencing hunger, and much more. Please check Causes we Support for a complete listing. Members volunteer for many of these as well as other organizations, uphold them in prayer, and lend financial support. Perhaps you’d like to check out one or more and see how you could get involved.
